Since opening the doors to our first location in Bowie in 1983, the Pregnancy Clinic has ministered to thousands of women and men experiencing an unexpected pregnancy. In 1999, thanks to the support and prayers of partners like YOU, we began to offer sonograms to our clients at risk of choosing abortion. It was a total game-changer.
Fast forward to 2019. We now offer 3D/4D ultrasounds in our Clinics in Bowie, Annapolis and Severna Park, and those amazing pictures of life inside the womb continue to change hearts and save lives.
Jessica is a client we told you about in our Thanksgiving card. (Watch it here.) An unexpected pregnancy left her feeling scared and confused. She and the baby's father had separated, and she felt alone and unsure of her next step.
Jessica came to the Pregnancy Clinic and the encouraging words of her counselor calmed her fears. But during the sonogram, her life changed forever:
"It was just so surreal to hear the baby’s heartbeat at only 7 or so weeks. I didn’t even realize they had heartbeats so early on... I couldn’t believe how much the little life on the screen resembled a mini human/baby from so early on!
"If I hadn’t come into the clinic, I probably wouldn’t have been as compelled to keep the baby. I likely wouldn’t have had a sonogram so early on or heard the baby’s heartbeat. I also wouldn’t have had so many people praying for me.
(Jessica, Pregnancy Clinic client)
"And today I’m sooo happy with my decision. Emmy is such a blessing in my life and a gift from God! I love being a mom and love watching my sweet girl grow and learn everyday! She has the brightest blue eyes and a smile that melts my heart. She’s my whole world now."
Jessica chose life for her baby, and this year, sweet Emmy will experience her first Christmas.
The simple yet profound act of introducing a mother to her child through an ultrasound at the Pregnancy Clinic has saved thousands of lives - and now those amazing new voices are being heard throughout our community.
Your support makes moments like Jessica's happen, every day. Please consider a gift of life to the Pregnancy Clinic Ministry, and help us tell the stories of tomorrow.
This year, a generous family is providing a special challenge gift. This family feels so strongly about the work we do that they have given $18,000 and are challenging you and other partners to double that gift by the end of the year.
We hope you will join us in this opportunity to give more babies like little Emmy the opportunity to celebrate Christmas.
