In 1984 President Ronald Reagan issued a proclamation designating January 22 as the first National Sanctity of Human Life Day. Part of the proclamation states: “I call upon the citizens of this blessed land to gather on that day in homes and places of worship to give thanks for the gift of life, and to reaffirm our commitment to the dignity of every human being and the sanctity of each human life.”
We continue to recognize the third Sunday of January the Sunday before the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, as Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. Churches across the nation will take time to celebrate God’s gift of life, commemorate the many lives lost to pregnancy termination, and commit themselves to protecting life at every stage.
The Pregnancy Clinic Ministry is grateful to the many local churches that partner with us to recognize SOHLS through hosting guest speakers, distributing bulletin inserts, raising money through a Baby Bottle Campaign, and praying for this ministry. We are humbled to join with you on Sanctity of Human Life Sunday as we bow our heads and pray for those who are contemplating pregnancy termination, and for those who suffer from a pregnancy termination in their past.
